The Alumni Association is a socially responsible entity which acknowledges and acts upon its responsibility to the wider community. It has a large and active social footprint in the city and the surrounding districts. During the Covid outbreak it engaged actively with disadvantaged communities in North and South 24 Parganas. It conducted medical camps in isolated areas of the Sunderbans which lack access to medical facilities. Members of the Alumni Association also established food distribution centres in North 24 Parganas which provided cooked food to economically disadvantaged families and senior citizens. These initiatives were undertaken in Barrackpore and Ichapure and are testimony to the commitment of the Alumni Association to reaching out to and succouring the most marginalized communities in our society.
Preserving biodiversity and the ecological balance are among the key priorities of the Alumni Association. In line with these commitments the Association has undertaken the planting of saplings and trees at Birati in the North 24 Parganas.
